The Sexy Song Book - Lowther and Masters

With each CD released and each performance, local guitarist Andy Masters is building a reputation as a quality musician.

The 1975 graduate of Southwest High School attracted a partner for his latest CD, “The Sexy Songbook,” after he earned that reputation with country artist Rodney Dillard.

Dillard set up a meeting in a Branson studio between Masters and vocalist Debra Lowther, who liked Masters’ playing so much that she decided to record a duet with him the same day.

They put that song on Masters’ CD “Trek” and then recorded standards to fill his latest CD, which was launched at a party May 21 at Cascone’s Italian Restaurant in the Northland. The album of duets will be available at www.cdbaby.com within a few weeks.

“It’s the most marketable thing I’ve done,” Masters said. “It’s very in tune to what’s going on musically right now. Hopefully people enjoy what I do.”
